At the end of a long, hard day there’s nothing better than lying on bed, but how many of us have a conducive interior style in the bedroom? For any house, the master bedroom should act as a sanctuary from the outside world. It makes sense to put the time and extra effort into making this room appealing and comfortable. Here are some master bedroom ideas to help take your space from simply being where you sleep to your favorite room in the house.
Create a seating area: Your bedroom should not just be the place where you sleep. The space should feel like a place where you want to spend your free time. Create a seating area at the foot of your bed, look for a loveseat or 2 comfy sofa chairs that will give you room to stretch out.
Don’t forget the wall art: Wall art is vital to every space. Use wall décor to anchor each of the different function areas in your space. Create an accent using colors, textures and artistic materials.
An accent wall- An accent wall is a perfect way to break up a room, to emphasize a particularly great architectural feature or to instill an extraordinary space which can be used which can be made by using paint, wallpaper or wood.
Don’t forget the heights: Lighting- Table lamps, chandeliers etc. bring a lot of style in the room. Install hanging pending lights in a suspended ceiling. Pendant lights are an excellent way to focus lighting in a designated area.
Try something quirky: You can Use nightstands of two different shapes-one could be wood and the other glass. Your dresser doesn’t have to match specifically with your nightstands. Mix the items rather than going for too match, it creates a unique and different design. You don’t want your space to look like a furniture showroom.
Less is more: Too many items on coffee tables, pillows on chairs and art pieces on walls make a space feel cramped. Stick to a few statement pieces and oversize art to give your room a clean and modern look. Pillows and bedspreads can be neutral or you can add some color to your overall design.
Float your furniture: If you have solid surface floors like wood or tile, get an area rug no less than 6×9 by size. The right scale area rug will ground the space and furniture.
Choose a specific style: Choosing a specific design style for creating a peaceful sanctuary can transform your bedroom into the favorite space of your house. The different styles in market are traditional, modern, farmhouse etc.
Create centerpieces: Add some bling on your dresser or a group of glass candle holders or crystal vase in pretty planters. There are easy and affordable centerpieces.
